Art Shelf is proud to operate as an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, having successfully navigated the initial phase of acquiring our nonprofit status. In collaboration with Legal for Good, a law firm specializing in nonprofit law, we have ensured all legalities are meticulously handled. Our focus now shifts towards building a solid foundation through vital fundraising efforts aimed at supporting our operational and infrastructure needs. These include enhancements to our website, securing a physical location, purchasing art supplies and equipment for community use, developing a mobile app, and organizing impactful programs.
We are delighted to make the former Unified Theory Collective space at 1415 W. 35th St., Minneapolis, MN, our home. This venue serves as a central hub for creative supply donations and houses our no-cost art studio, promoting wellness and community engagement. Our dedicated team of volunteers and staff are essential in managing this space and driving our mission forward. Additionally, our fundraising initiatives are now focused on supporting a key managerial position to streamline operations, including volunteer coordination and customer service.
A significant development in our mission is the creation of a comprehensive mobile app. This platform will enhance access to our creative supply programs and distribution services, allowing users to apply for creative assistance, track shipments, and access a wealth of resources designed to maximize the wellness benefits of their creative packages. The app will feature instructional videos, guided creative classes, live event streaming, a community calendar, and a gallery. It will also host a store where artwork created by our participants, alongside Art Shelf merchandise, can be purchased, further supporting our fundraising efforts.
Moreover, Art Shelf is committed to providing both emergency and non-emergency creative assistance through pre-designed packages—ranging from illustration and painting to coloring books—complemented by resource pamphlets and usage instructions to enhance the creative and therapeutic experience. Our online application process also caters to requests for larger, specialty items on an availability basis, ensuring a wide range of creative pursuits are supported. We are grateful for every contribution that helps us advance our mission and deepen our impact within the community.
For those moved by our mission and looking to contribute financially, we warmly invite you to connect with us at create@artshelf.org. Your support will play a pivotal role in bringing Art Shelf's vision to life, enabling us to empower and uplift through the arts.
Your generous donation will fund our mission.
